Dear HYSA Families,
Soccer is now classified in Massachusetts as a Moderate Risk Sport and permitted to participate in Phase 3 Level I, II and III activities which include competitions. HYSA will follow Mass Youth Soccer’s Guidelines for Return to Soccer Activities (link is here: PDF and also posted on the HYSA and MYS websites).

HYSA is now planning to hold travel tryouts the week of August 23rd to provide the organization time to prepare and implement these new guidelines.

In past years, HYSA has requested that all travel players attend tryouts as we believe the evaluation process is most effective when all the players from an age group can show their skill and level of play with their peers. So we strongly encourage all travel players to attend their scheduled tryout session the week of August 23rd. However, if your family is on vacation or your child has a conflict with their program date/time, please let us know but do not worry. We expect there to be some schedule conflicts, and will continue to also use coach evaluations and other data for player assessments. HYSA continues to endeavor to create an equitable process for players to be appropriately placed on teams suitable for their development and despite the potential hurdles this year, we are still fully committed to
a fair placement process for players.

General travel tryout information is here: https://hollistonsoccer.org/parents/travel-team-tryouts/, although many of the specifics will change this year in accordance with the MYS Guidelines above as well as state and local directives. All players must have completed registration for Fall’20 well before tryouts.

Please continue to check the HYSA website and social media for updates.
