We sincerely apologize for the confusing messaging that HYSA is getting from the MA Youth Soccer Association, but we are striving to get people the most up to date information so that they can make informed decisions.
The MA Youth Soccer Association updated their guidelines again today (May 19th). BAYS has adopted those same guidelines and they apply to HYSA travel and intramural teams. Find the updated MA Youth Soccer Mask Protocol Document here.
Here is a summary as of May 19th:
- Players age 18 and under ARE NOT REQUIRED to wear masks when playing soccer outdoors.
- Players age 19 and older ARE REQUIRED to wear a mask when playing soccer outdoors.
- Players (of any age) ARE NOT REQUIRED to wear a mask when on the sidelines if proper social distance is maintained.
- Coaches and Referees (of any age) ARE NOT REQUIRED to wear masks when outdoors if proper social distance is maintained.
- Spectators ARE NOT REQUIRED to wear masks when outdoors if proper social distance is maintained.
- We will continue to keep attendance at practices and games.
