From Erin Onstine, HYSA Goalkeeper coordinator:
This year, we’re encouraging corresponding-grade coaches to attend the goalkeeping session with their goalies. This gives them a chance to get some hands-on experience running the drills, learn some age-appropriate techniques and ideas for working with your goalkeepers, and to help run the session. It has historically been difficult to find enough volunteers to help with these clinics, so having coaches there will be a huge help! Don’t forget to RSVP.
For the players: These sessions involve quite a bit of diving and tumbling in the grass, so please have them dress appropriately. We recommend long sleeves and long leggings under their shorts. Players should also bring water, a soccer ball, and goalkeeper gloves if they have them. Please also tie back long hair.
The session will run for 1½ hours. We’ll cover how to properly warm up, age-appropriate goalkeeping techniques, and some of the mental aspects of playing goalkeeper.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions, and we hope to see you and your goalkeepers out there!
Don’t forget to RSVP.
